Who Is Unto Good Works?

We are a newly formed charity with a long history of service.

More than 30 years ago a youngish man and a youngish woman were discussing their future and their relationship and what were some major goals for their lives.  The man, Chris Bugg, had done relief work after Hurricane Andrew and was feeling a call to do more relief work in the future.  The woman, Rebecca Bugg, had health issues that would preclude her travel into the very areas that he needed to go.  The decision was made that he would go and she would stay home, providing prayer support and any other support needed.  Since that time, he has traveled to many places following earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding and tornadoes.  Originally, he did "chainsaw" work, removing fallen trees, etc., and construction work, repairing storm damage.  Then, following the most recent hurricane in Louisiana, he operated a food kitchen feeding people in a small town for more than a week as they worked to recover from the storm.

Then in late November of 2022, we were watching the news regarding the war in Ukraine and felt a call to go there to deliver whatever relief he could.  His wife kindly pointed out that he didn't speak Ukrainian, couldn't read Ukrainian and didn't know anyone there.  "The only way you'll be going there is if God opens some big doors for you."  Two weeks later we had a Ukrainian refugee family and another couple in which the wife was from Ukraine, eating dinner with us.  A few weeks after that we were connected with pastors operating a refugee camp in Romania and then connected with a pastor doing relief work in Ukraine.  In January 2023, Chris traveled to Ukraine and spent a month there.  And then, made two more trips to Ukraine in 2023.  We spent much of  2024 working to get the charity, Unto Good Works established, and sponsoring a golf tournament to raise funds to purchase supplies for the people, and to help a young boy in Buford who was undergoing chemotherapy.  Then Chris made two more trips to Ukraine in 2024 and one in 2025, doing a prayer walk along the front lines and ministering to people along the way.

Through these years, Rebecca has worked to support Chris, but also pursued her own ministry helping by making chemo caps that were distributed free of charge in oncology centers, and making other items that were distributed in a particularly poor area in Appalachia.  She also has a heart to help children, as a retired school teacher and is always seeking out ways to do so.

We are not professional missionaries or physicians or any of the type people you'd normally think would be called to do this kind of thing.  We are simply a retired forester and a retired school teacher who are trying to help others due to a call from God.

This fall, 2025, our charity is working to raise funds for Adventure Bags, a group located here in Winder, who provide bags throughout Georgia to children who have lost their homes, even as we continue to work to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

We ask that any who read this page, pray for the children, both here in Georgia, and those in Ukraine.  We ask that you pray for the peace and freedom of Ukraine and for the people of Russia, who, for the most part, are not in favor of this war, either.

Ephesians 2:10

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works."
